Sugar = Happiness

"No, mom. I can't have this. I've given up sugar." Pari said with a stern face alternating between her mom and the Jalebi.

"You're so skinny that I fear that you might disappear from the face of this planet one day. And now you want to adapt to this new regime," argued her mom with a dirty look.

Pari gave a loud snort, " I'll never disappear physically, but yes, I'm sure my weight will reduce by giving up sugar, and all my health issues might go into remission."

"Sugar gives happiness, my child?"

"Aah! that's just a perception."

: In 99 words (no more, no less), write a story about disappearance. It can be an event, act, or subtle theme. Who or what disappears? Does it fade or explode? Can it be explained or experienced? Go where the prompt leads!

Clap your Hands!

The learned have taught us and shall continue to preach, "Happiness is a state of mind!

I am happy when things go my way, however; the situations are usually never in our hand.

Man proposes God disposes.

We want to turn left at a certain junction, but life throws lemons, apples, and oranges at us.
We pause.
We are dejected, and we turn right instead.

No doubt that path is so gloomy since it was not our decision. But, to embrace the situation is considered wise.

So be it!

We stretch those muscles around our lips and force a smile. The society terms it happiness!

A smile is happiness you'll find right under your nose. Tom Wilson

The peer pressure is such that we live under makes us embrace what the society tags us as. Some cases it is in our favor, however; most of the cases it is not. After a couple of chokes, we ingest the problem and try to carry on. Alas! the situation has still got us constipated.

But, man is so resilient that he continues to row his boat even though the muscles ache, the oars have cracked up.

'Giving up' should never be in thy dictionary since each breath is precious.  To be gifted a human machine is an out-of-the-world experience, being mindful of what comes our way allows us to use the intellect.

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

This intelligence if used can help us cement the cracks that have developed due to some failures, ruptures or inadequacies.

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. T. S. Eliot

To learn to take a U-turn or pause at any junction just shows how adequate you are to bear upon the challenges. No doubt when that event turns in your favor..happiness becomes unlimited.

“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.”
― Dalai Lama XIV

It's the feeling like touching the Mars and coming back without paying a single dollar from your hard earned money.

“Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.”
― Abraham Lincoln

Next time an adversity comes your way; clap your hands. I will assure you with the clap will come a solution!

Holidays & School

Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays!
No more pencils
No more books
No more teachers' angry looks!
Happy Holidays!

This was the rhyme I used to sing each year from elementary to the end of middle school when I would be coming back from school in my school bus along with my school friends.
Yup, I do realize I have uttered 'school' many times.
What can I say...I miss my school days!

That was the best time of my life 'cause even the bully would become your friend. Even the shy and reserved person would be seen singing. Even the 'elite' classmate would mingle in. That moment when the bus would embark from our school to the individual routes of each of our homes, we all were bonded as strong as the Hydrogen bond that no one just about no one could fizzle that bond away since it bound our DNA's, and all other possible macromolecules together.

I do remember vividly the bus conductor would Shhh us some times. But none were perturbed. Finally, she would give in but wore a distinct smile on her face.

Such was life!
Simple, Unadulterated, and Contagious!

When my bus stop would arrive. Promises were made to call, visit friends' homes and I would even give a teary hug to my besties.

Two and a half months of unadulterated fun. It consisted of visiting my maternal grandparents home near Delhi. Visiting my cousins and that involved good food, late night movies, ice-cream, gossiping, and not to forget even the fights!

But again life was fun!

Within no time, back to school day would arrive. I and my sibling would groan, sulk as we would start getting prepped for the schedule a week prior to that day such as waking up early, eating and bathing on time while arranging our rooms and respective book shelf.

In the meantime, my parents would give out a sigh of relief. Relief that their kids will have a timetable to watch out for and not be disheveled.

Tables turned!
Now as my teen prepped himself into the routine. I was giving out a long exhale. This exhale was an internal happiness that life will be back to order, discipline and productivity.

When it comes to back to school; I watch my kid groom into a routine; I also get a chance to relive my crazy summer days. I realize I will not go back to experience it, but those memories are still vivid and strong within me that it still gives me the goosebumps. Thus, always allowing my kiddo to be unrealistic, wacky and disorientated to his likings cause memories if made can make anyone so alive when he/she tends to ponder over them.

This has been a Finish the Sentence Friday post. This week’s sentence is “It’s back to school time, and I feel…”

Wordless Wednesday #60

I always get a feeling of appreciativeness when I see hands joined.

It not only symbolizes hope, and forgiveness, but also the gratitude towards each breath we take and continue to conduct our duties in this lifetime.

Mantra for today: Embrace being grateful since it is the root of happiness!

The Impact of Joy in our Lives

I was inspired to write this post when I read about Suzy's goal for this year...JOY in 2014

To be in joy unconditionally is difficult but to be aware of our circumstances and strive to be in that state of mind is bliss!

Happiness is conditional for all beings since we believe in fruits of labor. Getting success means happiness for age groups until 50.

Asking people ranging from ages 1 to 90 years old...their reason for happiness will vary.

Happiness is when the inner self is in high spirits due to some satisfaction that he has yearned for quite some time.

It is bliss, contentment and peace of mind for some.

Happiness leads to a moment of enjoyment, a euphoria which leads man to ecstasy even without any drugs.

Man is a dreamer, and when his dreams, ambitions, goals, or something nice triggers for him, his heart tends to melt and secrete those hormones that lead to a smile as his inner self rejuvenates over it.

Happiness is an expression of love. A love and a yearning from within for someone or for oneself.

Promising to be happy for just that day can do wonders.

Try it, and feel the gush of happiness flow through you for that selective day and you will be amazed at how powerful your thoughts can be!

Once man realizes the magic of being in that state of mind despite the ugly circumstances surrounding him, he tends to believe in joy.

Mantra for today: Joy is an ecstasy that can be addictive if the soul learns to grip the art of being in that state of mind, irrespective of the outcome.

Key to Contentment

We must be the change we wish to see.
Mahatma Gandhi

Choices tend to bring in joy and sorrow. That leaves man always hanging between these two emotions. Having an open mind towards what life throws at you, is the ideal way to live.

Expectations always tends to take our energy since we are constantly weighing out our options of what to choose and thus, when get sorrow; we get dejected and fall.

However, if the emotion joy comes to you, then man is pumped up with life and wants to conquer everything around him. Unfortunately, that does not work. Sorrow and joy are the two sides of a coin thus if we are choiceless about what comes our way, then we can use that energy in something positive towards ourselves or towards the progress of mankind.

Being Choiceless is not easy, but we should be assured that joy and sorrow are like the two sides of a coin thus; sorrow is inevitable just like joy is. Then why fret over something that is inevitable?

Human go enjoy your life and accept what comes your way. Use your energy on what you obtain, and give it your 100%. If the situation is a gloomy one, fret not, cause the journey to joy is not far away.

Mantra for today: Having no expectations is the key to supreme happiness.

The Magic of Green

 Wonderful Wednesday is here!
Join in the fun at Pictimiltude. Today's theme is Gardens

Summer, Garden, Swings
Children favorite moment
Squeal with happiness

Mantra for today: Nature is a synonym of beauty, innocence, and frolic.

How would you pursuit happiness?

Happiness and money are related to most of the population.

If you have the money, you have happiness since; at least the basic necessities are around you.

The only problem is that there is no end to it.

Man is continuously pursuing innovation so that life would become easy and eventually we will be in an era where machines will work for us. Man will be sitting back and watching them work while he continues to deter the planet's resources and fight and complain over basic things.

Recently, Pope was in the news requesting people to use the basic gadgets such as phone, car or clothing as a necessity and not as a pleasure.

What is your take on the above?

Sure, man ought to stay in the race by having the basic necessities but, to run after the latest gadgets is a never ending pursuit.

What makes you happy and content?

Mantra for today: Drawing a line between necessity and pleasure is necessary for the solace of the mind.

Significance of a Birthday

Birthday is the date when the person is born. It is a date that is reserved for him.

What is the significance of a Birthday?

He is entitled to be in the spot light for that particular day and get best wishes from his friends and family.

Every body wants to be the highlight of the day, so when it is your birth date, you are entitled to get all the love, attention, best wishes.

Being surrounded by so much positivity brings so much glow and happiness to the birthday person. It is like a natural pain killer since all the negativity dies down when he is surrounded by best wishes and love from his friends and family.

Such is the effect of warm feelings.

Man is degrading since; the day he is born.

Physically the person that I was yesterday is not who I am today. Cells divide on a regular basis; thus, things alter.

We should try to surround ourselves with such positivity each day and try to avoid ingesting chemicals in our body to curb a physical pain because physical pains usually arise when a person is emotionally stressed out. Emotions usually go high when the surroundings are tense.
It is a chain reaction.

Oh, Man, may you have a Birthday each day where you are  mesmerized by the pleasant feelings and get joy and happiness.

Mantra for today: Be Positive Every day!

How to be an Amazing Person?

We should be surrounded by some simple adjectives that can help magnify our personality and also accentuate our inner self.

Some simple traits, which could make an everlasting impression:
  • To Listen--lend your ear to your friends and family members.
  • Be considerate-try not to judge them when they are speaking their heart out.
  • Give options-they are in a difficult state of mind and must be puzzled. Do not impose your thoughts on them instead, give them options.
  • Depart with a smile or a hug--that always assures them that you were delighted to help them out and not obliged.
  •  Keep in touch--try to contact them every now and inquire about their status.
Rule of the world: People flock where there is happiness.

Unfortunately, nothing is constant. Today if that person is happy, there will he sorrow surrounding him tomorrow.

Stick to your principles and be an exception.

Break the rules and be near those friends or family members who are in utmost need of emotional caring. They will cherish those memories of you when you were sticking to them during hard times rather than joining in with their laughter's.

Mantra for today: Nothing is permanent
